Day 9- Day 12

A poem a day, for 14 days.

My aim is to put down on paper what I see and what I feel in the best and simplest way                                                               – Ernest Hemingway

=9=

I said what I didn’t want to feel while you said what I didn’t want to see

With the warm rain down and the cold breeze to pierce my shirt

I was a unique being in a world of hope with nothing left to be

I’m moving fast so slowly it seems

I was a unique being in a world of hope and shattered killer frames

I’m moving slowly so fast it seems

I was a unique being in a world of hope and a world of shattered stains

=10= (My personal favourite)

300 people in an enclosed space

Together in a hue of alcoholic disordinate

Moral ecstasy high with expectations

Withering anxiety in a pool of sour people

Loud words with no meaning

Causing pain in the hearts of those mentioned

And disgust and contempt in those affected

One night away from peace and public image

A few more hours closer to self humiliation and a ruined reputation

Oh, how we jump at the chance to be free

From our own bleeding brain

From our own constant stresses that push us deeper in our graves

Like a rubber band pulled too hard

The liquid embodiment of who we want to be when we are alone

Oh, how we jump at the chance

=11=

“My life is not a masterpiece”

Who would have guessed

For the human bit the apple

Running in their blood

Yet he always knew

Of a certain infection flowing like waves

Few small cigarettes mixed in the air

Who would have guessed that he always knew

=12=

True or false

Is the happy one

Low coloured lights in an empty hard skull

I’m not sure either

Who the lion man is
